Dr. Pamula Hart

Pam has been a member of the Cheltenham community since 2000. She is currently the Director of Curriculum and Equity in the North Penn School District. Before assuming this role, she served as an elementary principal for 21 years in the Jenkintown, Lower Merion and Cheltenham School Districts. During her tenure as principal of Myers Elementary, she fell in love with the Cheltenham community and knew she wanted to raise her children there. Her areas of interest are family engagement, community building, and curriculum development. Dr. Hart earned her M.Ed and Ph.D from the University of Washington, Seattle. She lives in Wyncote, PA with her husband and two children.

Johanna Lee

Johanna and her husband Anh Ngo have resided in Elkins Park since 2011. They have three children, who all attend schools in the Cheltenham School District. Johanna actively participates in whichever school PTO her children are attending. She is the Director of Data Analytics and Reporting at Cooper University Health Care in Camden, NJ where she implements and optimizes financial systems.  She has 20+ years of experience in healthcare finance and operations, which includes financial planning and analysis as well as healthcare billing and insurance reimbursement. Johanna enjoys cooking, baking and traveling.

Kim King

Kim joined the Foundation as Treasurer in January 2019. His areas of responsibility includes financial administration and management, and serves as the liaison to external reporting authorities. Kim is a strategic business leader with broad and diversified experience across multiple industries in financial planning, valuation and strategic analysis. He worked for companies such as PricewaterhouseCoopers, Exelon Energy and AT&T.  Currently, Kim is a full-time real estate investor with a focus on multi-family holdings and development. He earned a BS in Accounting from Temple University, and MBA and MS in Finance from Drexel University. Kim has been a member of the Cheltenham community since 2000 and resides in Wyncote, PA with his wife and two children.

Lisa Angelettie

Lisa Angelettie, MSW is a psychotherapist and USA Today bestselling novelist who has written for The New York Times, Gannet News Service, Publishers Weekly, and Today’s Black Woman. She served on the board of Cheltenham High School’s Vocal Performing Arts Boosters for five years, and is a member of the Information Marketing Association, National Mental Health Online, and Delta Sigma Theta Inc., a public service organization.

Lisa earned her BA in Journalism from Howard University in Washington D.C. and her MSW from New York University. She currently resides in Elkins Park with husband Deric, her four daughters, and two naughty labradoodles. Lisa enthusiastically serves on the Cheltenham Education Foundation Board as a commitment to supporting the educators who have shaped and inspired the lives of her girls.

Marion Biglan

Marion is a proud resident of Cheltenham since 2004 and has two teenagers in Cheltenham High School who have been in CSD since kindergarten. Marion has been an active volunteer in the Cheltenham School District, starting on the Glenside Elementary PTO as the Family and Engagement Chair, then serving almost nine years on the board of the United Parents Group (UPG), where she served as President for several years.  

 

Having started her career as a 5th-grade teacher, Marion is passionate about supporting educators. She worked for over 18 years at Teach For America, serving as the founding executive director of Teach For America’s Chicago site and then the Vice President of People Development. In 2015, she started her own coaching and consulting practice, Illuminate Collective. Marion is a certified professional coach through the International Coach Federation and a Certified Professional Diversity Coach through Coach Diversity Institute.

Christopher Booth

Christopher Booth is a seasoned attorney from Elkins Park, PA.  He has served in several civic, professional and leadership capacities, including, but not limited to, as a former Board Member and Secretary of Cheltenham Little League.  In addition to practicing law, Chris is a horrible but avid golfer, obnoxious Eagles fan, and screenwriter of short films.

Melinda Bugg

Melinda and her husband Phil have lived in Elkins Park since January 2001. They have two children, both of whom attended the Cheltenham School District from kindergarten through high school: class of 2019 and projected 2025. Melinda and her family believe in the value of a quality public school education and are grateful for the educational and extracurricular opportunities the Cheltenham schools and community provided their children throughout their K-12 years.

 

Melinda joined the board in Spring 2023, bringing her 30 plus years of business administration and operational experience to support the efforts of the Foundation. She is Managing Director, Operations and Administration at Rosemont Investment Group and holds a BS in Business Administration from Bloomsburg University.

Betsy Conway

Betsy Conway is a lifetime resident of Cheltenham and graduate of Cheltenham High School, class of ‘67. She earned her Master of Education Degree from Arcadia University (formerly Beaver College). Betsy was an educator in Cheltenham for 36 happy years. She and her husband Tom, an educator in Cheltenham for 34 years, have a son, a daughter and four  grandchildren. She has enjoyed donating time to the Cheltenham Education Foundation,  volunteering in various areas of our school district and student mentoring. Betsy also has a passion to help shelter animals, especially equine and will accept all donations of used towels, blankets and bedding to give to the shelter.

Lisa Desphy

Lisa Desphy has lived in Elkins Park since 2005. After purchasing their first home, Lisa and her husband Niles became parents to three children, who are all currently CSD students. The starter home became too "full" of love, and knowing they made the right decision in choosing Cheltenham for their children's education and community ties, they sold their house and bought a new one a mile away. Once more, choosing Cheltenham.

                    

Lisa, a Norfolk State University graduate, started her career by selling ads for the campus newspaper and working as an intern at The Virginia Pilot. After that, Lisa had an internship at WCBS-TV in New York before landing a position in radio. After 28 years, 3000+ radio stations sold, and more than $500K in advertising sold, she still loves working in radio. Lisa is eager to take on the role of grant writer to further assist the CSDF Board in assisting Cheltenham schools, teachers, and individuals in need of scholarship. Lisa is an active participant in a number of professional organizations, including Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Praise is the Cure and NABOB.

Emily Cheramie Walz

Emily has over 20 years of experience in the Philadelphia nonprofit sector, working with clients in arts & culture, social & human services, and education, and with the foundations and companies that support them, to engage communities and build capacity. She is currently the Development Director of the Pennsylvania Prison Society, ensuring that those incarcerated in the Commonwealth are treated with dignity, care, and respect. Prior to this position, she was the Director of Development and Communications for Fred's Footsteps, an organization providing life-changing support to families caring for a medically fragile child.

 

Emily has lived in Elkins Park for over 15 years with her husband, Mark, and their three sons.

Kevin Kaufman

A township resident and district parent for more than a decade, Mr. Kaufman has more than 21 years of experience in strategic public and media relations, communications, marketing, and publications. Since 2012, Mr. Kaufman has served as the Associate Director of Advancement Communications at Saint Joseph’s University, where he is finishing a master of arts degree in writing studies. Prior to that, he was the Assistant Director of University Communications at The University of the Arts, News Bureau Director at Drexel University, Public Relations and Marketing Coordinator at the consulting engineering firm Pennoni Associates and Assistant Director of Athletic Communications for Publications at the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Kaufman earned a master of education degree in athletic administration from Temple University and a bachelor of science degree in news-editorial journalism from West Virginia University.
